Kumita ng Hindi Ka Nasisilayan: My Journey to a Financial Mindset Shift

Yesterday at the market, I overheard a friend complaining about her extra expenses and how she’s struggling to make ends meet. I couldn’t help but remember when I was in her shoes, trying to make a living through my first ‘raket’ (gig) and barely scraping by. But then I discovered the power of a financial mindset shift, and it changed everything for me and my family.

I recall when I first started using GCash to send money to my siblings’ school accounts - it was a game-changer. I realized that I didn’t need a lot of capital to start earning extra pera (money). My diskarte (strategy) was to focus on what I had, which was my smartphone and a willingness to work hard. I started doing small tasks online, like answering surveys and participating in online gigs, and it slowly but surely added up.

My neighbor, who’s also a fellow online earner, once told me that the key to success is not having a lot of money, but having the right mindset. She said, “Walang capital? Walang problema!” (No capital? No problem!) And it’s true. When you shift your mindset to focus on what you can do with what you have, that’s when the magic happens.

For me, it was about being resourceful and finding ways to kumita online (earn money online) without needing a lot of capital. I started selling products online, using social media to promote them, and it was amazing how much I could earn just by using my smartphone. My siblings’ school fees were finally covered, and I could even save some extra pera for emergencies.

So, if you’re struggling to make ends meet, I want you to know that you’re not alone. We all start from somewhere, and it’s never too late to make a change. Start by shifting your mindset - focus on what you can do with what you have, and don’t be afraid to get creative and try new things. Remember, no capital is not a problem, it’s just a challenge to be more resourceful and determined. With the right mindset and a willingness to work hard, you can achieve financial freedom and provide for your loved ones, just like I did.
